I'm not sure I'll ever understand why the media agreed to water down their negative (read: "truthful") coverage of the current White House administration. We all remember when it happened (right after 9/11, when Bush's approval ratings soared by riding Osama's coattails). But since that time, all the lies have been uncovered. Bush, Cheney, and their co-horts have been unmasked as the war criminals they are. Why they aren't being held accountable in the judicial system is one thing but it's something else entirely to watch the networks and newspapers continue to tip-toe around the real issues.
The newest infraction is wondering why record numbers of voters are showing up for the primary elections this cycle. The networks and papers act like they can't figure out what on earth could possibly prompt people to suddenly be so interested in our country's political process. Inevitably, by the end of the segment or article, they announce the reason is "close races in both parties."
That's bullshit and they know it. The reasons are simple and there are seven of them: Seven years of the worst president in the history of the United States of America. Seven years of lies. Seven years of Americans and Iraqi civilians being killed in an unjust war which was planned with no end game. Seven years of economic instability, leading to widespread job losses and record home foreclosures. It goes on and on.
The media need to grow a pair: The reason America is voting in record numbers is George W. Bush.
